San Francisco Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) chapter member attends the 28th annual convention and trade show thanks to a scholarship sponsored by Listen Technologies.
Listen Technologies sponsored a Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) Annual Convention Scholarship for its 28th annual convention hosted in Portland, Oregon. The HLAA Convention is the nation’s most extensive educational program and trade show for people with hearing loss.
Each year HLAA Convention attendees come together to learn about the latest assistive technology and services available to them. The convention schedule offers a wealth of workshops, presentations, vendors, and product demonstrations to inform, educate and support the Hard of Hearing Community (HoH). Events for networking and socializing are also built in to the schedule.
Scholarships are awarded to HLAA members who have never attended a convention and who otherwise would not be able to attend including: veterans, young adults and seniors. HLAA awards a full-activity package registration.
“I am grateful to Listen Technologies for making it possible for me to attend the HLAA National Convention in Portland, Oregon this year,” said Janice Armigo Brown, Scholarship Recipient, San Francisco. “It’s not every day that this many people with hearing loss are under the same roof unless they are attending a national convention. This unique experience alone is one that I will always cherish. The true camaraderie experience! I truly appreciate their interest in helping provide access to communication technology for people with hearing loss.”
“With almost one in ten people having hearing loss, it’s probably safe to say that most of us know someone who is affected by hearing loss,” noted Cory Schaeffer, Co-Founder, Listen Technologies. “The Convention is an opportunity to celebrate HLAA and its members. We are honored to support HLAA’s mission to open the world of communication to people with hearing loss. This scholarship is one way we’ve chosen to show our support and advocacy for the hearing loss community.”
Austin, Texas will be the host city for Convention 2014, June 26 29 for more details on the HLAA and the convention visit
