Bluetooth SIG Certifies Auri™!
It’s official!
Auri™, the first complete assistive listening solution utilizing Auracast™ broadcast audio, has received formal certification from the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG).
The Bluetooth SIG is the non-profit organization that develops and manages the standards, specifications, and licensing of all Bluetooth® devices, including those that employ Auracast™ technology. These specifications, per the Bluetooth SIG, “define the technology building blocks that developers use to create the interoperable devices that make up the thriving Bluetooth ecosystem”.
So, yes, Auri, the pioneering collaboration between Listen Technologies and Ampetronic, has completed the comprehensive certification process, meeting the exacting standards and protocols required to qualify as a genuine Auracast™ product and receive the SIG’s stamp of approval — the Auracast™ trademark.
The certification is also the final step in the availability equation, allowing us to bring Auri™ to market – shipping January 2025! Another result of the Auracast™ certification is the inclusion of Auri™ in the Bluetooth® database of qualified Auracast™ products. Products that are real and available now. And that venerable list includes, in addition to Listen Technologies and Ampetronic, some of the most respected hearing brands in the world, including Sony, JBL, Samsung, Jabra, Beltone, Phillips, and ReSound.
If you already have an Auracast™ device, or if you’re looking for one, the Auracast™ Product Listing is available, for all, to view the ever-growing catalog of certified products, ranging from mobile phones and tablets to earbuds and speakers to hearing aids and cochlear implant processors. And, of course, the first Auracast™ broadcast audio-based assistive listening system.
As discussed in our previous articles, Auracast™ will revolutionize listening options at home, at work, and (most notably) in public spaces such as airports, auditoriums, even your local sports bar. To that end, the Bluetooth SIG is preparing a database of venues that support Auracast™ broadcast audio. Venues can register as an Auracast™ location to be included in that upcoming public, searchable database for users seeking Auracast™ broadcast audio locations.
Auri™… our time is now. It’s real, it’s official.
