Project: European Adventist Youth Congress

Every five years, young people from all over Europe meet at the European Adventist Youth Congress, the largest gathering of Adventist youth in Europe. The 2022 Adventist Youth Congress (AYC22) event was held in Lahti, Finland, and welcomed over 2,500 young people for the four-day conference.

Challenge

The event organizers intended to provide fully inclusive language interpretation for attendees. The plenary sessions were broadcast in English and eleven additional languages. Providing and managing large quantities of traditional interpretation systems would require a dedicated support team and a sizable equipment inventory with many instructions for attendees to follow.

Solution

AUDIO PRO HEILBRONN Elektroakustik GmbH provided the AYC22 conference with two Listen EVERYWHERE LW-200P-08 eight-channel Wi-Fi audio servers to broadcast the twelve live language channels throughout the venue. Attendees, participants, and staff used their smartphones to download the free Listen EVERYWHERE app, then selected their preferred language channel.

Result

The Adventist Youth Congress used Listen EVERYWHERE for interpretation at the AYC22. Attendees used their smartphones to stream the audio in their preferred language. Attendees listened through their wired earphones, Bluetooth^®-enabled earbuds, or hearing aids. Users enjoyed crystal-clear audio in their language in the large open space.

The conference interpreted the sessions in multiple languages and avoided needing additional resources and lendable inventory. They didn’t need additional staff to maintain, track, and clean traditional receivers and listening transducers.
