The Hale Centre Theatre first became a Listen customer in 2003 when they contacted us looking for a replacement to their installed assistive listening system. Since they were familiar with such systems and they had experience with another brand, they requested an evaluation system prior to making their final decision. I worked with them on this and supplied them with a system to try for 30 days. The rest as they say is history. Listen and the staff at Hale Centre Theatre became friends quickly. They loved their new Listen system and felt comfortable with our company right away. Weve grown quite close to them and our relationship has evolved beyond being their assistive listening solution provider.
Each year, we rent a Santa costume to use for a day to have the Listen employees bring in their kids and pets to have a photo with Santa. The Hale Center Theatre also has meeting spaces for rent. We’ve held meetings at the theatres and in 2008 the theatre was the venue for the Listen holiday party. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in a private room followed by a great performance of A Christmas Carol. I’ve seen A Christmas Carol many times but I must say this performance was amazing. It’s a theatre in the round and there isnt a bad seat in the place. The actors were truly outstanding.
In 2008, Listen hosted a tour of their facility in support of InfoComm AV Week. Michael Fox, the theatre’s operations manager was our guide for a tour of the back stage operations of this incredible theatre. As part of the tour we saw the sound booth, the props area, and how the theatre operates during a performance.
Michael has always been willing to go above and beyond to support our requests. When you meet Michael you will feel the personal passion he has for theatre and in particular the Hale Center Theatre.
I recently stopped by to talk with him about how the Hale Center Theatre manages their ALS system and to glean from him more information as to why his theatre has had so much success with these devices. Once again he was more than eager to share his experiences with me.
