George Street Playhouse has been entertaining the New Brunswick, NJ community since 1974, its programming is made possible, in part, by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State. They received a grant to upgrade their assistive listening system, the existing system was outdated and problematic resulting in a poor user experience. After researching options and possible systems, George Street Playhouse decided that a new RF system was the best solution and reached out to iProbe, to purchase and install a new system. iProbe suggested Listen Technologies’ ListenRF 72 MHz system as it would deliver clear, precise audio and eliminate any line-of-site issues.
The ListenRF system was installed in the sound board area of the theater and consisted of 2 desktop transmitters, 30 receivers, and a mix of headphones, neck loop lanyards, and rack mount accessories and cases. The playhouse as well as its loyal patrons were pleased with the quality of sound of the new system as well as the simple setup for management and ease of use for the end-user.
Patrons of George Street Playhouse simply check out a receiver upon arrival and don’t have to worry about signal drop as the actors move throughout the stage. And, the management staff is happy to provide a new, advanced system to encourage inclusion and ensure a better experience for all patrons.
