The LA-490-BK-W9 Bluetooth/IR Beacon shall be a digital transmitter capable of operating in the 2.4 GHz spectrum for unlicensed Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices, as well as in the Infrared spectrum at 850nM. The beacon shall emit both Bluetooth iBeacon® and Infrared SyncLink® protocols, allowing Wi-FI audio listening devices to receive the signal and automatically trigger a channel change on the device when in range. The beacon does not require a connection to the local area network. The beacon shall trigger both Wi-Fi audio receivers as well as Android and Apple smartphones with the ListenWIFI mobile app installed. Bluetooth or Infrared triggering can be enabled/disabled via software control.
The beacon shall easily be mounted to a wall or ceiling using the included mounting hardware, or directly to a single gang electrical box. The beacon shall incorporate a tamper proof screw to ensure it remains attached to the wall. The beacon shall be black in color, and the dimensions shall be 4.5 x 2.8 x .9 inches (11.4 x 7.1 x 2.3 cm). The beacon shall be able to be powered via AA alkaline batteries or USB micro connection including PoE adaptors. A cable trough shall be incorporated into the device for proper strain relief and cable routing. The beacon shall have a multi-colored LED on the front, indicating operational status, low battery status, under configuration status, firwmare updates, etc. The LED can be disabled during normal use as desired. The device shall have adjustable Power and Interval levels to adjust for triggering range and responsivess.
The beacon shall be set up and managed via the ListenWIFI Manager installed software, which shall not be required during runtime. The device can be configured via a Bluetooth connection or via a direct USB connection with the Manager software. The software shall support full configuration and management of a venues ListenWIFI audio system, including servers, mobile apps, receivers, and beacons. The Manager software shall have an integrated firmware update tool for all system components, including beacons.
