Architectural Specs
The multi-channel GPS triggered commentary system (system) shall be capable of playing eight channels of audio simultaneously to be used on a moving vehicle or vessel with the audio being delivered to passenger’s Android or iOS mobile devices; and to an onboard public address system. The system shall be capable of being expanded to sixteen channels. The system shall be triggered automatically via GPS or manually by an operator via a control panel, a mobile device or a foot switch. The system shall include an external GPS 18X OEM, high sensitivity GPS sensor and receiver to ensure reliable location triggering. The system shall be capable of being operated on DC voltages 12VDC or 24VDC or AC voltages 110VAC or 220VAC. The system shall have audio connections to connect to a public address system and shall receive both line and microphone inputs. The system shall have an HDMI output for playing of video on a remote on-board monitor.
Programming of the system shall be done using on-line software based on Google maps and shall include route planning; GPS trigger zone programming; uploading of audio files; and exporting to the system via a USB flash drive or similar.
The system shall use a Listen LW-200P-08 eight channel WiFi venue server that shall deliver low latency audio to guest Android or iOS devices. The number of WiFi channels shall be capable of being expanded to sixteen channels with the installation of an additional WiFi server. The average latency shall be less 200ms. Guests shall download an application and connect to an onboard wireless access point. From the application, guests shall choose the appropriate language or information channel.
The audio over Wi-Fi venue server shall be capable of broadcasting multiple audio sources over Ethernet to a WLAN access point. Smart phones and tablets shall be able to receive the audio broadcast through a proprietary app. The app shall be made available for download to smart devices through the Apple and Android app stores or other web locations at no charge.
The Wi-Fi venue server shall be rack mountable in one RU 19” rack space and capable of receiving line level audio inputs. There shall be audio input indication through LED’s shown on the front panel of the server. There shall be no user control interface on the server to prevent tampering and facilitate easy setup and operation.
The proprietary app shall support in-app marketing features that the customer can specify and update, including promotional welcome videos, app theme colors, channel names and images or logos. The app shall also support additional features including sliding banner ads, URL hyperlinks, and PDF documents when connected to the internet, which can be scheduled to display based on time of day and day of the week. App customizations shall be programmable by the customer using the Listen Everywhere web service, which also supports venue server configurations and network settings, and provides the ability to push software updates to the venue server remotely. The venue server shall also be accessible through a local Server Admin portal which allows further network configuration.
