The New LWR-1050 WiFi Audio Receiver: Redefining Sound Clarity

You have a smartphone, you use Wi-Fi. Thus, you are ready to experience ListenWIFI, our innovative Wi-Fi audio streaming solution that allows listeners to user their personal smartphones for assistive listening, language interpretation, and/or personal listening applications.

If you are new to ListenWIFI, in a nutshell…

Venues offering ListenWIFI provide one or more audio channels over their Wi-Fi network, allowing any smartphone with our free ListenWIFI app, to select their preferred audio channel and listen using their personal wired or Bluetooth® hearing devices. That’s you, BYOD-ing.

And there are a bunch of very cool best-in-the-business ListenWIFI features and benefits that didn’t fit in the nutshell, but you can see them all at the link above.

But there are those among us who don’t own a smartphone, or forgot it, or choose not to use their device, or maybe just want options. There are also occasions where smartphone use is restricted, but assistive listening or interpretation is still required or desired. Some hospital, government and private sector buildings, and many concert and performance venues regulate smartphone usage. So, now what?

The ListenWIFI LWR-1050 Audio Receiver… that’s what!

Developed and bult from the ground up, right here at Listen Technologies World HQ, the LWR-1050 receiver positions ListenWIFI as the global assistive listening solution, meeting ADA and international compliance requirements. Beyond satisfying compliance and regulatory standards, the LWR-1050 allows venues to offer guests the choice of using their personal device or a venue-supplied LWR-1050, creating an inclusive and accessible listening environment, while maintaining compliance. Both devices deliver the same high-quality digital audio. And that’s real time audio, because our industry-best low latency assures you won’t experience lip-sync delay issues. What you see is when you hear.

Like all Listen receivers, the LWR-1050 is compact and easy to use. The variable brightness display provides volume, channel, Wi-Fi strength, and battery level, while two soft buttons, below the graphic display, offer simple channel and language selection. Volume control and menu navigation is easily accessed on a pair of side-mounted buttons. The receiver provides a CTIA-compliant 3.5mm TRRS audio connector, assuring the LWR-1050 is compatible with our wired transducers (earbuds, ear speakers, headphones, and neck loops) and yours.

The LWR-1050 is powered by our standard LA-365 Lithium-ion battery. Charging is accomplished via the receiver’s micro-USB port or integral charging contacts, allowing the LWR-1050 to fit perfectly with our proven line of USB chargers and docking stations. An included belt/lanyard clip lets the user position the receiver as they see fit.

As mentioned, the LWR-1050 provides channel/language selection buttons. However, with ListenWIFI, venues can choose to offer a truly automated experience, where the system sets receivers to the correct channel when within range of venue-provided Listen LA-490 beacons. Meaning one could walk from room to room with an LWR-1050 receiver and automatically hear the right channel, in the right language, in the right place, at the right time. Seamlessly.

ListenWIFI puts the power in the listener’s hands – use your device, or ours. Either way, you’ll hear why ListenWIFI is the most acclaimed Wi-Fi assistive listening technology available.
